Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive soil gas. It is colorless, odorless and tasteless. Radon is estimated to cause thousands of deaths annually. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of  lung cancer in the U.S. today, trailing only smoking. Breathing radon contaminated air significantly increases your risk of lung cancer. If  you smoke and are exposed to radon contaminated environments your risk is especially high. The American Lung Association and American Medical Association agree that radon causes thousands of preventable lung cancer deaths every year.
